- Please choose one of the three options below and write an essay of 500-800 words that offers a clear and compelling response. Your writing should show the selection committee how you think about reading, learning, and your experiences in and expectations for college. Please use spell-check, but nothing else.
1. What has motivated you (people or events) to become an avid reader and lifelong learner? Why is reading so important for you in your personal and/or professional aspirations?
2. Tell us about a reading that you did in your first semester at Towson that has influenced your commitment to being a lifelong learner. The reading can be for a class or for personal enjoyment. Do you think that reading and lifelong learning are connected? If so, how or why?
3. You get to choose a book that all first-year students are required to read next year. What do you pick and why? What are some questions that you would like students to discuss after they’ve read the book? How do you think those questions will enhance their understanding of the book?
- Please upload a resume listing activities and commitments you have been involved in since July 2024.
- Please enter the name and email of a TU faculty member so we may contact them for a letter of recommendation. Please confirm with the faculty member that they will provide the letter of recommendation before entering the information.
- I agree to submit a written report of approximately 3-4 pages describing the ways in which I can apply in my future career what I have learned in the classroom during the 2024-2025 academic year. I agree to submit this report to efehskens@towson.edu by May 13, 2025.
