James W. Smith Scholarship Endowment
Awarded to a continuing student majoring in computer science demonstrating the qualities of James W. Smith, a colleague in the department who passed away in 2001. This includes enthusiasm for computer science as demonstrated through scholarly achievement and/or encouraging and helping others to learn about the discipline; exemplary scholarship in computer science courses; demonstrated ability in mathematics courses; evidence of the potential for success in the computer science discipline; awareness of the social impact of computing and computers on society; and the need for responsible behavior of professional computer scientists. Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 required. To be used for tuition, fees, room and board. U.S. citizenship not required.
