This scholarship is a testimony to the goodness of Mary Susan Sniadach. Mary graduated from Loyola University Maryland and became a social worker to serve others. She found joy in simple things and enjoyed sharing the gift of laughter with her family and friends. As a girl, she rode her plastic rocking horse with such speed it jumped from the floor. Mary loved dressing like a cowgirl. She took her pet rabbits’ babies for rides in her doll carriage in the neighborhood and was delighted when the neighbors were surprised to see tiny Dutch bunnies instead of dolls. She spent much time looking at and pondering the magnificence of her Golden Retriever’s nose or the beauty of her cat’s fur. Mary liked building tree forts with her friends in the small patch of woods near her home. She grew up playing tag football, basketball, softball, tennis and ran on the cross-country high school team. She loved running in the rain and found joy swimming in the Atlantic Ocean and skiing in the mountains of western Maryland. Mary experienced emotional illness and the physical illness of multiple sclerosis. Through it all she was good and she did good.
