Honorables of Color Scholarship

This scholarship is open to students accepted and enrolled in Towson University’s Honors College who support marginalized communities. All applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

  • Full-time undergraduate student;
  • Incoming student accepted and enrolled in the Honors College;
  • Outstanding record of academic achievement and promise; and
  • Demonstrated financial need as defined by the Financial Aid Office; with
  • Preference given to a student with demonstrated volunteer or extra-curricular activities that support marginalized communities.

  1. This scholarship is intended for incoming students. Will Spring 2024, Summer 2024, or Fall 2024 be your first semester at Towson University?
  2. This scholarship is open to students accepted and enrolled in the Honors College. Have you been officially accepted into the Honors College?
  3. Please upload your unofficial transcript from high school for freshmen year students or your last semester's college transcript for transfer students.
  4. Please also include a resume or list of activities that demonstrates your commitment to marginalized communities or Communities of Color. Feel free to include formal and informal employment, activities, and leadership roles. Please limit resumes to two pages.
  5. Please select ONE essay prompt from the four choices and respond. Responses should be limited to 500 words max.

    (1) How have marginalized communities or Communities of Color impacted your life? How do you think they have impacted the United States as a nation?

    (2) Which person in your community has influenced your life the most? Why?

    (3) What makes you happy? Why?

    (4) What are your most important extracurricular or community activities? Why did you join these activities? What has compelled you to continue to contribute to them?
